3-D Shoots are arranged in a wood-like setting using three-dimensional forms of Deer, Turkey, Leopard, Bear, African Lion, Mountain Lion, Mountain Goat, Alligator, Elk, Buffalo, etc. There will be a short walk between shooting stakes.

For 2008 we will continue with casual registration 9am to 11am and start shooting anytime between 9am and 11am. Targets will be pulled starting at 3:00 PM.

For 2008, we are also having three "club" shoots. These shoots are to promote membership into all of the local archery clubs that are promoting archery by setting up and having 3-D shoots. a lot of work goes into hosting a shoot.  It is also open to VBA members from anywhere in the state. Guests are allowed. bring some to see the fun we also have. No Awards. Cost is $8.00 for adults and cubs are free! Limited food will be available. Casual shooting. the number of targets may vary. And also may have more than one stake at the same animal.

Registration will be from 9:00 AM to11:00 AM!  Spread the word!!

This year we will be shooting combinations of 30 targets in a round. Unknown distances vary from 10 yards to a maximum of approximately 50 yards. The majority of shots are between 15 and 40 yards.

One arrow is shot at each target.

Scoring areas are outlined as a "Kill" or "Wound." the arrow must touch the higher scoring ring.

Eleven points are scored Hitting the small circle inside the Kill Area. 10 points for anywhere else for a  "Kill", Eight Points for a "Wound" and a hit any where on the target scores a Five. The kill zone also has an 11 ring which is scored if touched. by the arrow shaft.

Groups of three to five archers follow numbered signs around the range to complete a round. Only Target or Field type points are used to eliminate damage to the targets and for Safety Purposes. The Outside Diameter of the points MUST match the OD of the arrow shafts.

We also allow archers to shoot for "fun". They can go around the range one time and shoot at whatever distance that they want to (Maximum of 50 yards) No score is kept and no pressure. Just the relaxation and stress relieving sound of arrows flying through the air and sometimes scoring a vital hit. The charge for this is only $10.00.

This type of shoot is an excellent way to prepare for upcoming hunting seasons.
